One of our priorities at Windy Knoll Goldens is to provide puppies that will be excellent, healthy, friendly companions, and pets for life. The foundation to achieving our goal is making sure the parents exhibit those qualities. As caring golden retriever breeders, we test our dogs for common golden retriever genetic points including DM, GRPRA1, GRPRA2, MD etc. and have them certified with the Orthopedic Foundation of America (OFA) or PennHip to ensure our breeding dogs and their puppies are not prone to genetic weaknesses. X-Ray tests and screens are performed when the dogs reach an appropriate age – usually 2 years old (OFA) and usually around 1 year old (PennHIP). As responsible golden retriever breeders we always research our pedigree for optimal breeding lines.

These pups grow into loyal, intelligent, and affectionate family dogs who thrive on companionship and love having a job to do. With the Golden’s friendly, easygoing warmth and the Shepherd’s devotion and smarts, they make wonderful companions for active families, first-time trainers, and anyone looking for a devoted best friend.
Expect a medium-to-large dog with a beautiful coat that can range from golden and cream to sable and black, often with the classic “smiling” Golden face and the Shepherd’s noble build. Golden Shepherds are highly trainable, eager to please, and known for being gentle and patient with children and other pets. They do best in homes that can give them plenty of exercise, mental stimulation, and lots of family time!

George has never met a person he did not love, and Violet will win your heart without even trying. Together, they are a pairing we have been looking forward to for a long time! Their puppies are due on July 24th, and we have been looking forward to this pairing for a long time. Violet is a lovely mixed English Cream and American Red with a quiet, gentle nature that is impossible not to adore. She does not demand your attention, but the moment you offer it, she will nuzzle right up to you with those big expressive eyes and wait for a scratch behind the ears. George is our largest and darkest American Red, a big handsome 85-pound golden with a rich thick coat and the kind of warm, outgoing personality that makes everyone around him smile. Together they bring the gentle, loving, people-focused temperaments that make golden retrievers such exceptional companions. With Violet’s soft creamy coloring and George’s stunning dark red coat, these puppies could fall anywhere on that beautiful golden spectrum. Apart from the recent litters listed below, we occasionally have older puppies available (3-9 months) that have already gone through preliminary training. At times we also have retired goldens that we are looking to re-home.
