Golden Retriever Litter Update: Last Photos of Molly & Henry’s Puppies

It always sneaks up on you. Eight weeks feel like forever when you’re doing midnight checks and counting tiny heartbeats — and then suddenly it’s the last day, the car doors are closing, and the house goes quiet. This is our final golden retriever litter update for Molly and Henry’s litter, and we wanted to do it justice!

The Last Golden Retriever Litter Update: Week Eight

Eight weeks is a big milestone. According to the American Kennel Club, this is exactly the right window for golden retriever puppies to transition to their new homes — their key social and emotional development is complete, and they’re primed to bond with a new family.

We’ve watched every one of these puppies hit that mark. They’re confident, curious, and completely ready.

One Last Look at Each Puppy

Every litter has its personalities, and this one was no different.

The bold one

Right from week two, this one had opinions. First to the bowl, first to the door, first to figure out that the humans were the best source of warmth!

The gentle one

Watched before leaping. Let the others go first, then moved in with quiet confidence. Never caused a fuss, never missed a meal. The one you looked for when the room got noisy and always found sitting calmly in the corner, watching.

The one who was always on top of the pile

Self-explanatory. Somehow always on top. Every photo, every nap, every single time. We have dozens of photos and this puppy is in the top tier of approximately all of them.

Why Week Eight Matters

For anyone who’s new here and wondering about the timing — golden retriever puppies go through a critical socialization window between weeks three and eight. By the end of week eight, they’ve developed the social and physical skills needed to form strong bonds with a new family. Sending them home any earlier would shortchange that development. We always wait for the full eight weeks — it makes a difference you’ll notice for the life of the dog.

A Note to the New Families

We’ve put everything into these eight weeks. Every puppy has been held, talked to, socialized, and loved the way we hope you’ll continue to love them! Now the time is here…..were we pass them over to their new families and wish them many many happy years together!
