Goldie and George have beautiful puppies that will be ready to go home in March!
One of our priorities at Windy Knoll Goldens is to provide puppies that will be excellent, healthy, friendly companions, and pets for life. The foundation to achieving our goal is making sure the parents exhibit those qualities. As caring golden retriever breeders, we test our dogs for common golden retriever genetic points including DM, GRPRA1, GRPRA2, MD etc. and have them certified with the Orthopedic Foundation of America (OFA) or PennHip to ensure our breeding dogs and their puppies are not prone to genetic weaknesses. X-Ray tests and screens are performed when the dogs reach an appropriate age – usually 2 years old (OFA) and usually around 1 year old (PennHIP). As responsible golden retriever breeders we always research our pedigree for optimal breeding lines.

This is a first time for both Violet & Brad. Both goldens have lovely personalities including being gentle, conscientious, calm goldens with relatively low drive. They are very good with children including toddlers, and with all other dogs. In fact, below you will see videos of Brad rolling around with puppies which makes him the greatest nanny we have. Often, he will carefully and gently climb into a pen with 3-5 week old puppies and lay down and let them crawl all over him. Violet has a lovely light blond creamy colored coat, while Brad boasts the darkest red coat out of all our goldens! Both love the water and love to retrieve. These puppies will go home on December 14th! We have one male available. The next litters will go home March of next year.
Clover, one of our darkest red goldens and Charlie, our handsome show quality golden will produce amazingly cute and smart goldens. George and Ellamae produce our darkest red golden retriever puppies because both parents are dark red. Both parents have been tested for many genetic weaknesses and matched based on the results. Both go through further hip testing with PennHIP which is a superior, scientific based hip test. Of course the parents’ personalities play just as much a part of our selection process. Both are friendly, confident, playful, and loving. George’s energy is a little higher than Ellamae’s who is a bit quieter and more “mature”. With that, both produce easy to train, family friendly puppies

She is an energetic, yet loving mother. Charlie is the gentleman of the place being the most caring and thoughtful male we have.
