Meet the Girls

This is an all-female litter — six daughters, each named for something that blooms:

  • Scarlet
  • Marigold
  • Lily
  • Peony
  • Violet
  • Primrose

Ruby’s little garden, you might say. It felt only right that our sweet Ruby’s girls would carry names as warm and lovely as she is. Their eyes and ears have just opened, and you can already catch the first tiny hints of the personalities to come!

What Is a Golden Mountain Dog?

If you’re new to the breed, a Golden Mountain Dog is a cross between a Golden Retriever and a Bernese Mountain Dog. This gorgeous hybrid blends the Golden Retriever’s sunny, people-loving nature with the Bernese Mountain Dog’s calm, steady devotion — the best of both worlds in one big, lovable package.

Golden Mountain Dogs are prized as gentle giants: friendly, intelligent, and wonderful with children. Many inherit the striking tricolor markings of their Bernese side, often with beautiful golden highlights. As a mixed breed, they also tend to benefit from hybrid vigor, frequently enjoying a longer, healthier lifespan than a purebred Bernese. You can read more about the breed’s temperament and care in this helpful Golden Mountain Dog guide.

Golden Mountain Puppies

At just three weeks old, these Golden Mountain Dog puppies are right in the middle of one of the most magical stages. Their eyes have opened, their ears are picking up new sounds, and they’re taking their very first wobbly steps around the whelping box. Tiny tail wags, first little yips, and clumsy attempts to wrestle with a littermate.

For now, they’re still nursing and snuggled close to Ruby, who is doing a wonderful job as a devoted mama. Over the next couple of weeks they’ll start to explore more, meet solid food for the first time, and really begin to play.

This is also when our early enrichment work begins. We follow a socialization routine inspired by the Puppy Culture program, gentle handling, new sounds, and safe little challenges that help these puppies grow into confident, well-adjusted family dogs. Because Golden Mountain Dogs grow into large dogs, often 70 pounds or more, that early foundation in confidence and manners matters even more.

These puppies are all spoken for- but if you’d like to get on the list for a future Golden Mountain Dog litter you can start by filling out our puppy reservation form, we’d love to work with you!
