Three Weeks Old! New Pictures of Violet and George’s Puppies

Violet and George’s puppies hit the three-week mark today, and we have fresh pictures to share! If you have been watching this litter, you will notice a real difference from the newborn photos. They have gone from sleepy little potatoes to actual puppies almost overnight!
The puppies eyes and ears are open now, so for the first time they are truly seeing and hearing the world around them. They turn toward voices, they notice when someone walks into the kennel, and they are starting to respond to us instead of just to Violet.
They are also up on their feet. The army-crawl scoot of the first two weeks has turned into a wobbly, wide-legged walk, and they spend a good part of the day tipping over and getting right back up. With mobility comes wrestling. You will see the first clumsy play in these pictures, along with the first tail wags and some very small, very serious growls.
Baby teeth are beginning to come in, which means we are right at the edge of introducing their first soft food. Violet is still doing the heavy lifting, but she is starting to take short breaks from the pen, and that is exactly what we want to see at this stage.
Personalities are beginning to show, too. Every litter has a first-to-the-door puppy and a hang-back-and-watch puppy, and by three weeks we can usually start telling them apart. You can watch videos of them here on our facebook page!
Daily handling and socialization continue with every puppy, every day. They are getting used to being picked up, held, and talked to, and to normal household and kennel sounds! We will keep the updates and pictures coming as they grow!
