Winnie Stayed Behind: Two Delightful Weeks Of Training

Bradford and Chytta’s nine week old golden shepherd puppies have grown up fast, and if you have been following this litter since July you already know how quickly nine weeks disappears on you! Most of them are with their families now, and a few of the puppies are still here with us for training.
The walks we told you about in last week’s update turned into full expeditions right at the end. They headed straight for the treeline, tails up, and barely looked back for us at all. That is exactly what we want to be seeing in the last week. A puppy who marches off into the tall grass on his own steam is a puppy who is ready for a family of his own.
Chytta whelped this litter on July 17. Everybody sat for their own portrait at eight weeks, which is a tradition around here, and these are the last pictures we took of them as a group. Right now we are training a few of the puppies, working on the manners that make the first weeks at home easier for their families. Only one of these 8 week old golden shepherd puppies is still looking for a family, and that is Bruno. He is the solid black boy in the red collar in the photos below.
