Puppy Training With Georgie! Unleashing The Best In A Golden Retriever Puppy

Georgie is one week into her puppy obedience training, and she’s doing great! When the rest of Violet and George’s puppies went home on September 16, Georgie stayed here on the farm for our two week program. She heads home to her family on October 2.

Two Weeks Of Puppy Obedience Training

Each week has one main goal. Week one is sit and coming when called, and week two is down. Alongside those, Georgie gets a little practice every day with her crate, her potty schedule, walking on a leash, meeting new people, and being gently handled so vet visits are no big deal. Good behavior gets rewarded right away, and biting and jumping are never allowed, right from the first day.

These are the same basics the American Kennel Club’s S.T.A.R. Puppy program builds on. If puppy obedience training sounds perfect for a puppy of your own, our reserve a puppy page is the place to start, and you can see who’s growing up now on our current litters page. Keep up the great work, Georgie!
