Lucy and Freddy’s 11 Beautiful Puppies!

We’re thrilled to announce the arrival of a brand-new litter of beautiful puppies. These AKC Golden Retriever puppies were born here at Windy Knoll Goldens on October 5th to the proud parents Lucy and Freddy. These precious little ones are already melting our hearts.

Lucy is doing wonderfully and has proven to be a calm, attentive mother—always gentle and devoted to her babies. The father, Freddy is known for his friendly, outgoing personality, and together, they’ve produced puppies with beautiful coats and sweet, curious temperaments.

Beautiful Puppies

This litter includes 6 males and 5 females. Featuring a lovely mix of light golden coats! Even at just a few days old, they’re wiggly, strong, and full of promise. We’re so excited to welcome Lucy and Freddy’s puppies to our family farm. At Windy Knoll Goldens, we focus on giving each litter the best start. That’s why we use Early Neurological Stimulation (ENS) starting on day three. ENS is a simple program from the U.S. Military’s Bio-Sensor work. It helps build strong, adaptable puppies during their first 16 days. Each day, we do quick, gentle exercises. These last just seconds per pup. We touch their paws to wake up nerves. We use a cool damp towel for temperature feel. We also do head tilts and holds for balance. Lucy stays close, so it’s all calm and safe. No stress—just care.

ENS makes a big difference. These beautiful puppies get better immune systems and handle new things well. Experts like Dr. Carmen Battaglia note it helps with stress recovery and confidence. Our families love how these Goldens adjust fast to home life, from walks to vet trips.

Right from the start, our kids join in. They help hold puppies, and help administer wormers. When the puppies get older, they run around and play with them under our watch. Sometimes, they play fetch and other times they play tug-o-war which is a particular favorite for puppies. Some of the children offer stuffed toys or nylabones for gentle sniffs or chewing practice which is very important for developement of their jaw formation. It’s all about positive steps. Soon, they do supervised games in the yard—chasing after the children or eachother or even walking on the leash. This teaches our pups to love kids’ energy. They learn to be gentle and fun playmates. We work with the puppies to make sure they learn to chew only things they are supposed to like bones or toys, but not hands or shoes. These are important first steps in a puppy’s life…establishing good habits for the duration of their lives and helping them to adjust and get used to new situations, animals and people. Speaking of which…

The Farm

Our farm adds more real-world lessons. Chickens cluck and peck all around the yard. Pups watch safely, getting used to the sounds and movements. Goats bleat, wanting to get in on any action they see—we let them see the fun leaps on leashes. The beautiful brown quartar horse named Gideon and a miniature donkey named Katahdin, inseparable friends, snort softly or whinney occasionally, while the pups either watch or nap close by. Barn cats dash, showing chase limits. These steps build steady Goldens. They fit right into any home, farm or city.
