The cat rounded the corner first. Sadie — all nine wiggly pounds of her — went completely still. For a long moment, two pairs of eyes just stared. Then Sadie’s tail started going, slow at first, then faster, then in that full-body wag that only puppies can pull off, like her whole spine had an opinion. The cat was less convinced. I wish I could have gotten a photo of it! That’s Sadie for you. She meets the world with the unshakeable confidence of someone who has never once considered that she might not be the best thing that ever happened to you. She plays hard, loves harder, and has a particular gift for launching herself into your lap and falling deeply, contentedly asleep — usually mid-zap of energy, as if sleep ambushed her!
She also got her first bath today, and did surprisingly well! Sadie is the last puppy available from Princess and Henry’s litter, and honestly? We think she saved herself for the right family. Could be that yours? We have so loved having this bright cheerful girl around it will be hard to let her go! Check out a video of her here!
