If you are a golden retriever, you live to swim, splash, and get wet. With that in mind, WKG planned a pond for our property. Excavated last season, the pond is now full and our dogs can finally swim in it. Brad and Henry are the champion swimmers but all of our water-loving goldens enjoy the new pond. As an added health benefit, we have observed a noticeable improvement in the aerobic capacity and muscle tone of of our dogs who swim regularly.
At our upcoming meetup/reunion on Saturday August 10, WKG would like to invite other water-loving goldens to enjoy the new pond as well. With its gradual banks, reasonable depth, and smaller size, it is the perfect place for your dog to cool off and have fun. We will have a wash station near the pond where you can hose down and dry off your dog post swim. If your dog loves the water and is coming to our meetup, by all means tell them that they will be swimming!
