Meet Amber! Our Remarkable Honey Golden Retriever

October 3, 2026

Meet Amber, our honey golden retriever girl! She is a very special girl and came all the way from Ohio to join our WKG family! She has been growing up here on the farm while everybody was busy looking at puppies, and we finally got the camera on her this fall!

Amber sitting in the grass with her ears up and the wave showing in her coat, autumn color blurred in the trees behind her at Windy Knoll Goldens in Bradford, Maine. — Amber, out in the autumn light.

Amber is not quite two, and she is all sixty pounds of calm and sweet. She is wonderful with children, and they all love her! She is also slightly obsessed with her ball and will play ball any day of the week! Golden coats run from the palest cream through to a deep mahogany, and honey sits in the warm middle. Amber is warmer than a cream and a long way off a dark red. If the deeper end is more your thing, our guide to the dark red golden retriever covers where that color comes from.

Something interesting happening across the field.
