One of our priorities at Windy Knoll Goldens is to provide puppies that will be excellent, healthy, friendly companions, and pets for life. The foundation to achieving our goal is making sure the parents exhibit those qualities. As caring golden retriever breeders, we test our dogs for common golden retriever genetic points including DM, GRPRA1, GRPRA2, MD etc. and have them certified with the Orthopedic Foundation of America (OFA) or PennHip to ensure our breeding dogs and their puppies are not prone to genetic weaknesses. X-Ray tests and screens are performed when the dogs reach an appropriate age – usually 2 years old (OFA) and usually around 1 year old (PennHIP). As responsible golden retriever breeders we always research our pedigree for optimal breeding lines.
We are excited to announce our next dark red litter, a pairing between two of our favorite Goldens in our we have! Lucy was born and raised here on the farm, following in the footsteps of her devoted mother, Windy Knoll Goldens’ Sweet Spice, and she is as friendly as they come, always the first to come running for a pat with her dark red head held high, she is also an outstanding mother! King George is our largest and darkest American red golden retriever, a strong 85-pound boy with a rich, thick coat who is eager to please, always wants to be where we are, and has already sired several beautiful litters here at Windy Knoll. Both parents are AKC registered, Embark tested, and PennHIP evaluated, and George also carries an OFA heart clearance. The puppies are expected to arrive around October 26, 2026, with go-home day set for December 21, just in time for Christmas. With Lucy’s warmth and George’s easygoing nature, these puppies should carry on both parents’ outstanding temperaments and the deep red color our families love. Brad and Emerald are expecting a litter of dark red AKC Golden Retreiver puppies due August 29, with puppies ready to join their new families in October!
Brad is a dark red field-bred retriever with strong drive and a calm, biddable temperament—an active dog who is equally content working or relaxing at home. Emerald is a dark red Golden Retriever with a sound, people-oriented disposition and a steady, affectionate nature. This pairing has been selected for temperament, structure, and health, and is expected to produce active, well-socialized puppies suited to life as family companions. Each puppy will be raised in our home and thoughtfully socialized before going home.
Given the strong interest in dark red Goldens, we are accepting a limited number of additional deposits for this litter!
