One of our priorities at Windy Knoll Goldens is to provide puppies that will be excellent, healthy, friendly companions, and pets for life. The foundation to achieving our goal is making sure the parents exhibit those qualities. As caring golden retriever breeders, we test our dogs for common golden retriever genetic points including DM, GRPRA1, GRPRA2, MD etc. and have them certified with the Orthopedic Foundation of America (OFA) or PennHip to ensure our breeding dogs and their puppies are not prone to genetic weaknesses. X-Ray tests and screens are performed when the dogs reach an appropriate age – usually 2 years old (OFA) and usually around 1 year old (PennHIP). As responsible golden retriever breeders we always research our pedigree for optimal breeding lines.
Prince and Izzy gave us our very first litter of Golden Mountain Dog puppies, born on April 20, 2026! Prince is our decorated Bernese Mountain Dog from excellent lines in Poland, who has the run of the whole farm and loves playing with our children. Izzy is our petite, light golden girl, brimming with affection, who adores romping through the fields and playing with the kids. Their puppies grew into beautiful tricolor Golden Mountain Dogs full of fun and personality, and they went home to their new families in June. You can follow their story from the very beginning on our blog, and see what is coming next on our upcoming litters page!
Ruby and Prince’s Golden Mountain Dog puppies arrived on June 18, 2026, and what a beautiful litter of girls they turned out to be! This special pairing brought together Prince, our handsome Bernese Mountain Dog from highly sought after lines in Poland, and Ruby, our stunning dark red Golden Retriever with a calm, loving personality. Their puppies carried on both parents’ good looks and gentle natures, with lovely tricolor coats of black, rust and white, and they all went home to their new families in August. Violet and George’s Golden Retriever puppies arrived on July 22, 2026, and they all went home to their new families on September 16. Violet is a lovely mixed English Cream and American Red with a quiet, gentle nature, and she was a wonderful mother to this litter. George is our largest and darkest American Red, a big handsome golden with a warm, outgoing personality. Their puppies landed all along the golden spectrum, from soft cream to rich red, with the gentle, people loving temperaments of both parents.
